Me. age 6. (still me at age 43...just a taller and wrinkles these days)

Oh boy. I do not like writing about myself. I usually find that whatever I write, I strongly dislike 2 days later. Which, by the way, is why I don’t keep journals. I can’t help myself from going back and reading them…then I don’t like what I read…then I have to toss it! I do however LOVE buying journals. Because let’s face it…there are a lot of pretty journals out there! So, this is a good start…now you know I don’t journal...and buy things I will never use.

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I love it. Just a pen and a big stack of paper or a sketchbook and all is well. I have recently added gouache to my list of "must have" art supplies. I hadn't used it since my first year at Maine College of Art (I have a degree in graphic design) and I feel like I have rediscovered an old friend. Glorious. I doubt we will ever part ways again.  Other things I can't live without…humor, honesty, looking at the sky when I am grumpy, super productive days, my garden, learning new things, children’s artwork, little birds, color, beautiful and functional design, and warm weather. (Why did we move back to New England again?)

Day to day...I live in Southern Maine with my husband and 2 boys + dog. We live in an old house that we are currently renovating...and probably will be for a long time. (It’s slow going…and you should see the bathrooms. SOOO BAD.) When I am not drawing, you will find me renovating and building.
